XL Video supports Nordoff Robbins

XL Video continues its relationship with the Nordoff Robbins music therapy charity, sponsoring the Artist Films for the O2 Silver Clef Awards for the third consecutive year, and by supplying the live video production and technology for the 2015 awards event. At this year’s awards representatives from XL Video’s music touring team attended, and were joined by their new colleagues from PRG for the first time.

Working closely with the Nordoff Robbins event team, and their producers, Premier PR, XL Video Project Manager, Mark Rooney created a video solution including multi-screen projection, four-channel camera system, LCD house relay screens, and screen management system for the 40th Anniversary event at London’s Grosvenor House Hotel.

The central, 9 m wide, dual-blended projection screen, flown above the stage, was flanked on either side by an IMAG projection screen. All three screens were fed by eight of XL’s Barco HDX-W14 projectors, double-stacked for brightness.

Four Sony HXC-100 cameras were located around the ballroom, to capture the artists as they collected their awards, and these feeds were mixed by Neal Law using one of XL’s Panasonic AV-HS450 PPUs.

Pre-recorded content, including logos, live auction information, and intro films were supplied via one of XL’s Catalyst media servers, and the combination of pre-recorded content and live cameras was output to screen using XL Video’s Barco E2 screen management system.

To ensure the audience of over 1,100 attendees had a good view of proceedings throughout the Grosvenor House Great Room, XL Video also supplied a number of LCD relay screens. During lunch, these also displayed information about the variety of lots available to bid on in the silent charity auction.
